Family Link Advisor
Hello!
I am proud to serve as the Family Link at HPF, where my role is to act as a friendly link between home and school. My aim is to:
- Foster positive relationships between parents/carers and the school
- Be approachable, supportive, and understanding with all families in the Federation
- Provide emotional support to children and their families, enhancing their overall wellbeing
- Collaborate closely with class teachers to understand the needs of individual children and their families
- Offer guidance and information about external support services, and signpost where necessary
- Keep parents/carers informed about relevant workshops, activities, and parenting courses
- Refer children with specific needs to our Educational Mental Health Support Team

I feel incredibly fortunate to be a key member of the HPF team, working to promote the wellbeing of our parents, pupils, and staff. In my role as Family Link, I am passionate about building strong, supportive relationships that help everyone feel connected and supported throughout their time at HPF.
I have been part of this school community for many years, initially working as a supply teacher at both Hanham Abbots Junior School and Samuel Whites Infant School. I later provided 1:1 support for children with special educational needs (SEN).
As a parent of three grown-up children who all attended this school (and each, like many, had their own unique challenges!), I understand the importance of a strong partnership between home and school. During their time here, I served as Chairperson of the Friends of the School for six years, which further deepened my connection to and commitment to our school community.
I truly love my job and feel privileged to work with such an amazing group of pupils, staff and families. It is a role that allows me to make a positive impact and contribute to the success and wellbeing of those around me, and I’m immensely proud to be part of this wonderful school.
