PSHE/SRE

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Sex and Relationships Education (SRE).

At Hanham Primary Federation we are using an exciting resource called Jigsaw to support our children’s Personal Social and Health Education [PSHE] and Sex and Relationships Education (SRE).

Jigsaw PSHE is a comprehensive Scheme of Work for the whole Primary School from Reception through to Year 6. It brings together PSHE Education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a comprehensive scheme of learning.

SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development opportunities are mapped throughout. All of these pieces of learning are brought together to form a cohesive picture, helping children to know and value who they are and understand how they relate to other people the world.

We use the Jigsaw scheme to teach Personal, Social & Health Education, including Sex & Relationships Education. Jigsaw is a whole-school philosophy with children at its heart that includes:

  • A comprehensive scheme of work for the whole federation.
  • PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health Education), emotional literacy, social skills, and spiritual development (SMSC).
  • The Jigsaw Approach, underpinned by mindfulness.
