Family Link Advisors
Hello! We are the friendly link between home and school.
Although both schools (infants and juniors) have a Family Link Advisor, we work very closely together, especially with families with siblings across the Federation.
Our mutual aim is to:
- be approachable, relatable and supportive with all families in the Federation
- promote a positive relationship between parents/carers and school
- support children emotionally and academically enhancing their wellbeing in school
- offer guidance and information about external support, signposting where necessary
- work closely with class teachers understanding the needs of individual children and their carers
- inform parents/carers about workshops, activities and courses about any parenting issues
You would normally be welcome to come into school to have a cuppa and a chat with either of us about any of your concerns. Unfortunately, as a result of the current Covid 19 situation, we are currently unable to welcome you to meet in person, but we can both be contacted through ClassDojo, by email or telephone. Leave either of us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Mrs Cat Garland
Cat’s work mobile TBA
Mrs Cat Garland has a background in the criminal justice system and believes that many of her service users’ problems stem from an early age, which could have been prevented through a stable and supportive home and school life, leading her to choose to work with young children and their families. Mrs Garland offers academic support to Pupil Premium children and runs a lunchtime support group for children who struggle to build friendships.
Mrs Garland works in Samuel White’s Monday to Friday from 9am -1pm and can be reached by private message through the Class Dojo app, by email or telephone and will endeavour to reply by the next working day at the latest.
